Self-Esteem
Self-esteem programmes are aimed at Key Stages 2 – 4 and are appropriately differentiated within these stages.

The programmes lengths vary from 3 sessions to 6 sessions for each class/group of 10 – 34 young people.

Our longer programmes offer lasting changes and provide practical life tools that can be used on a daily basis to boost a positive self-regard and fight our ‘inner critic’.

We also provide fun days that are day workshops that challenge and inspire the young people and offer a worthwhile experience.

What do we offer?

Self-esteem programme 1: 3 sessions, approximately one hour/session.
TOTAL COST: Start from £330

Self-esteem programme 2: 6 Sessions, approximately one hour/session
TOTAL COST: Start from £600

Fun days: All day self-esteem programmes
Cost: Start from £500

In our experience many schools want several classes within each year or year following programmes at the same time.  In this case cost will vary considerably.

All sessions include 2 facilitators who are highly professional and are drawn from a wide range of expertise including:

  • Teachers

  • Drama and play therapists

  • PSHE experts

  • Assertiveness self-esteem trainers

  • Life Coach experts

  • Conflict resolution professionals

What is self-esteem?

Self-esteem is knowing that you matter and that other people do too. Our attitudes and thoughts towards ourselves affect how we feel and behave, as well as how we treat others and are treated. Self-Esteem is the experience of being competent to cope with the basic challenges of life and being worthy of happiness.

Self-esteem is important because when you feel good about yourself, you enjoy life more. A positive, optimistic attitude can help you develop better self-esteem e.g “ Hey, I’m a human” instead of “wow, I’m useless,” when you have made a mistake.

The programmes include opportunities to learn and challenge negative thinking, and provide tools to effectively change ingrained ways of thinking. Knowing what makes you happy, your strengths and how to meet your goals can make you feel capable, strong and in control of your life.

POINTS TO REMEMBER

  • Your body is your own

  • Some things can’t be changed

  • Set reasonable goals and strategies for change

  • Get several people to help you stay on track with your goals

  • Accomplishing goals helps your self esteem

  • Handling negative thoughts or comments

  • Tell yourself to stop thinking about it – positive trigger words

  • Give yourself 3 compliments/day and ask for compliments!

  • Every evening list 3 things that gave yourself delight

  • Focus on good things you do and the positive aspects of your life

  • Create a box or scrap book of good experiences, comments and moments

Life Skills Education believes that early identification of problems, early intervention and support at key moments in the lives of young people is vital.
