Life Coaching & Self Esteem Life Skills
Education applies life coaching and self-esteem techniques to all the
programmes.
Wherever possible we provide individual or small group sessions where you can
work closely with specific young people on personal issues and goal setting.
These ‘mini’ sessions are usually part of a larger group programme that last
over several weeks.

Young person’s pathway during a programme may
include:
MINI-SESSIONS
Week One:
Completion of self-esteem & strength and weaknesses rating-questionnaire.-Students-complete-this questionnaire which aims to identify current levels of
self esteem. Specific targets are then formulated and reinforced via a
self-profile.
Week Two:
Students are required to rate themselves on a scale of 0 – 10 – students
will be helped to reflect upon and identify:

Why I am where I am on the scale?
-
Where I would like to be?
-
How I can get there i.e. What do my own personal targets
have to be?
Introduce creating a vision for themselves. The
best possible scenario. What is different? How does the day begin and then go
on? Talk through what happens in this ideal scenario.
Week Three:
‘Best Foot Forward’
Explaining model of the self-esteem cycle:
Students will identify some key statements that apply to each part of the
self-esteem cycle.
Introduce Identification of Negatives which can be changed into Positives.
Students formulate challenges for themselves
Week Four: Introduce assertiveness techniques.
Week Five: To review student’s self-presentation and support them to
communicate this to a larger group and receive feedback.

When you learn to believe in yourself, and not in what other people say about
you, then you can accomplish ANYTHING that you set your mind to.
If you let the opinions of other people run your
life, then you are cheating on yourself from reaching your full potential. So be
true to you, and when the going gets tough never give up on how you want to live
your life.
No matter what your life is now, imagine what
your future could be. Men and women who get to where they want to get are big
dreamers. And then they work and think everyday toward their vision, that goal
or purpose.
You have many talents. Use them. The woods would
be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang best.
